They do get into some amazing positions when they are having a scratch. Their back legs are surprisingly long and flexible. It's nice to see them when they go a little too far and overbalance! Looking at the photos again, I wonder if he is self-anointing as he seems to be bending his head round to the side.
This blog was originally set up to make a record of hedgehog activity in my garden in South Oxfordshire, plus any other wild animals that crossed my path. However, I've since moved to Pembrokeshire in Wales. Luckily I have found hedgehogs here too, and I'm always on the look-out for other wildlife.
